This postnatal CPD is the first in a series of advanced teacher training courses for yoga teachers or healthcare professionals wishing to learn more about women’s health yoga , Pilates and elements of hypopressives for pelvic health .

This is a 2 day CPD accredited through yoga alliance professionals running as an live online course on Friday 6th Jan & Sat 7th Jan 2023

Once completing the course you will have the skills to add sequencing for mum & baby classes and postnatal mums by the end of this course . You will also confidently understand postnatal issues that mums may refer to or ask your advice about and when to refer into other professionals to help .

This advanced postnatal CPD will teach you :

⭐What does it mean to be postnatal and what is happening in the body & mind

⭐Pelvis anatomy & what can happen at the end of pregnancy & hormonal shifts to go into labour. What happens to the pelvis & pelvic floor in physiological birth .

⭐What interventions happen in labour and why ? ( c- sections , medical interventions , tears , episiotomy , forceps , vontouse ) Implications for the postnatal mum in their recovery .

⭐How we can adapt our yoga postures for these mothers

⭐Early Pilates / breathing and pelvic floor connection connection . Yoga , Pilates sequencing for core , global strength and pelvic floor .

⭐Sequences to ease common aches and pains postnatally

About Your Trainer

Rosie Taylor Bsc ( hons ), Msc Physiotherapy , MCSP

Rosie has over 13 years experience of working as a physiotherapist. She has worked in the NHS, private practice and for charity sectors. For the past 6 years she has worked independently as a physiotherapist and yoga teacher running retreats all over the world , workshops and seeing musculoskeletal and pre / postnatal women for physiotherapy.   She is also a 500 hr Yoga Alliance qualified teacher, an APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) instructor with additional qualifications in Prenatal/Postnatal Pilates, Yoga, Baby Massage and Baby Swim teaching.

Rosie is a  Mummy MOT practitioner ( see www.themummymot.com ) and has completed training withe POGP in management of female incontinence issues and prolapse. In addition, Rosie has completed specialist raining in Advanced Pregnancy and Postnatal Fitness Prescription with Burrell Education and more recently has qualified as a level 2 hypopressives trainer with the International Hypopressives council. She is also trained in myofascial release treatment for prolapse , having completed training with Anna Crowle . This is a new way of treating prolapse using a biotensegrity model approach , releasing tension and scar tissue in the perineum and pelvic floor , abdomen , hips and then following up with hypopressives , rather than applying more and more tension with traditional kegal exercises.

Rosie also works as a pelvic health and musculoskeletal physiotherapist at Spire Norwich and regularly works as an associate tutor at The University of East Anglia , on the BSc and MSc Physiotherapy courses.
